Terms of Service - MyOpenHand

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MyOpenHand, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or a campaign. By using the platform you confirm you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Campaigns

Campaign creators are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of their campaigns. Campaigns must not be fraudulent, misleading, or used for illegal purposes. Every campaign is reviewed by our team before it goes live, and MyOpenHand reserves the right to reject, suspend, or remove campaigns that violate these terms. Funds raised by MyOpenHand-organized campaigns are distributed to the verified beneficiary named on the campaign.

4. Donations

Donations are made voluntarily and processed by Paystack under their own terms. Donors should only give to campaigns they trust; we encourage checking the Verified badge. Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis in accordance with applicable law and Paystack's refund process.

5. Fees

MyOpenHand charges a 0% platform fee during our launch phase. Payment processing is handled by Paystack at 1.95% per transaction and is paid by the donor at checkout, so the campaign owner receives exactly what the campaign raises. Payouts are subject to a Paystack transfer fee of GHS 8 per bank transfer or GHS 1 per mobile money transfer, which is deducted from the withdrawal amount. When we introduce a platform fee in the future, it will be 5% of raised funds and will always be shown before you donate. MyOpenHand never adds hidden charges.

6. Withdrawals & Payouts

Campaign owners may request withdrawals from their dashboard, capped at the campaign's available balance (raised funds minus amounts already committed to withdrawals). Requests are reviewed by our team and paid out via the payout method provided by the owner (bank or mobile money). Withdrawal requests may be approved, rejected (with a reason), or paid; you will be notified by email at each step.

7. Verification

Verification is a manual review process performed by our team. Approval is at our sole discretion and does not guarantee the outcome or legitimacy of any campaign beyond the documents provided.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use the platform to: engage in fraud or deception, violate any law, interfere with the platform's operation, or attempt to access other users' data.

9. Limitation of Liability

MyOpenHand provides the platform "as is" and, to the maximum extent permitted by law, is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the platform or from transactions between users.

10. Intellectual Property

The MyOpenHand name, logo, and platform content are the property of MyOpenHand. You may not copy or reuse them for commercial purposes without permission.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.
