Every campaign is reviewed
Before any campaign goes live on MyOpenHand, it is reviewed by our team. Campaigns start as "Under review" and only become publicly visible after approval. If a campaign is rejected, the creator receives a clear reason. This means donors only ever see campaigns that our team has vetted.
The VERIFIED badge
Creators can go a step further by submitting supporting documents (such as a national ID or registration certificate) for verification. Once approved, their campaign is marked VERIFIED — a clear signal to donors that the cause has been checked.
Your money is handled securely
Donations are processed securely by Paystack, one of Africa’s leading payment providers, using mobile money or card. The donor covers the processing fee (1.95%) at checkout, so the campaign owner receives exactly what the campaign raises. MyOpenHand charges a 0% platform fee during our launch phase; when a platform fee is introduced in the future, it will be 5% of raised funds and always shown before you donate. Every cedi donated is tracked and shown in real time on the campaign.
A community that holds itself accountable
Creators are expected to be honest about their campaigns, keep supporters updated, and use funds for the stated purpose. If you ever have a concern about a campaign, contact us and we will investigate promptly.
